Vector Portrait of Tokyo from Money Heist (La casa de Papel), a Netflix series. She is a strong and stunning character, played by Úrsula Corberó with perfection.
Tokyo (La casa de Papel) is my favorite character in Money Heist. It inspired our inner creativity and urged us to create the digital cover art. Here is a breakdown of how we created this vector portrait.
Guide for making of Tokyo (Money Heist) vector portrait:
Software: Adobe Illustrator CC 2020
Reference: Reference images are important in creating such portraits. Some people criticize the use of reference images. But many great artists of the present era like Dave Graco, Jazza, and Sam utilize reference images in their art.
Sketch: The artist makes the foundation of the character in the form of an outline of the basic sketch. Then he adds more fine details in the sketch.
Line Work: For the linework of Tokyo, we used XP-PEN graphic tablet which gives more flexibility for making such detailed portraits. The superior pressure sensitivity of this graphics tablet helps make the linework clean and natural.
Coloring: Coloring is the next step in portrait illustrations. It is a very important step and starts with the selection of a base color for skin followed by shading. Shading helps in improving the details of features.
